‘Leicester Square Theatre, 1977’ original acrylic and ink painting on paper, presented in a 25 x 25cm box frame. A historic view of the old Leicester Square Theatre in London to celebrate May the 4th!
Star Wars premiered in the UK on 27th December 1977, opening at the Leicester Square Theatre (now the site of Odeon West End) and the Dominion, Tottenham Court Road. During its first seven days the film took a record-breaking £117,690, before rolling out across the country to twelve major UK cities and a further 16 cinemas in Greater London.
This is my illustration of the building facade, lit for a night time screening. The painting has been cut-out, raised from the background and set within a black box frame for dramatic effect.
Gift wrapping is available if you would like to give this item as a present. A tag with a personal message can also be included. I use my own original designs for wrapping paper which you can also buy in packs for use at home.
