Painted Cities Exhibition

Painted Cities - Winchester From the Westgate by artist Jonathan Chapman MA
Delighted to tell you about a big solo exhibition I have coming up early next year, called Painted Cities. The Hampshire Cultural Trust has invited me to show at the City Space at Winchester Discovery Centre from 2nd Feb – March 31st.

It’s a big space, so Painted Cities will be a collection of older Winchester pieces (like the ‘Winchester From the Westgate’ shown here from 2015). I’ll also be exhibiting my latest World Series illustrations and anything else I can get finished before then! 😅

“Explore the colourful paintings of Jonathan Chapman, an artist who has lived and worked in Winchester for the last ten years.

Stirred by travel and a sense of discovery, Jonathan’s hand made illustrations have been commissioned for Heritage locations all across the UK. Each image is a mixture of man made architecture and natural landscape, using expressive brushwork with inked details. This exhibition showcases original paintings inspired by Winchester and many more cities from around the world.”

Date: 2 February 2019, 10:00 – 31 March 2019, 15:00
