Fêtes de Genève
Here’s a little acrylic and ink illustration Geneva Fireworks celebrating the Fêtes de Genève. The Geneva Festival is a famous annual summer event in Switzerland held on a Saturday evening in mid-August. There is a grand fireworks display over Lake Léman which features about 30,000 rockets accompanied by music… a perfect excuse for a splash of colour.
This piece was created on paper as a commission/gift and I wanted it to be expressive and looser than my architectural work. You can see the sky filled with my artist’s impression of fireworks! plus the more recognisable form of the Jet d’Eau fountain reflected in the water below.
